Equality Act

The Equality Act 2010 established a general duty which public sector bodies must demonstrate. This duty means that, in the exercise of their functions, they must have due regard to the need to:

They are also required to identify equality objectives and publish the equality information which they use to form the basis of decision making and show how they are meeting the duty.

The areas or groups where we are required to apply these duties include; age (young or old), race (including nationality and ethnicity), sex, disability, gender identity, religion or belief (or not having a religion), sexual orientation (including lesbian, gay, bisexual or heterosexual identity), marital/civil partnership status, pregnancy or maternity.

Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) People Health Needs Assessment

The 2018 Joint Strategic Needs assessment (JSNA) explored the health and social care needs of LGBT people in Swindon with the aim of providing demographic information to inform future commissioning intentions to improve services for LGBT people in Swindon.
