Community Safety Needs Assessment 2018

CS JSNACommunity Safety is about feeling safe, whether at home, in the street or at work. It relates to quality of life and being able to pursue and obtain the fullest benefits from your domestic, social and economic lives without fear or hindrance from crime and disorder.

The Community Safety Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNA) draws together information on a broad range of issues that are relevant to community safety for a wide audience of stakeholders and to inform strategy development for the Swindon Community Safety Partnership. The three main themes of exploitation of vulnerable people, public protection and violence were explored along with anti-social behaviour, cybercrime, domestic abuse and substance misuse.

The JSNA has identified that the unmet need across the spectrum of community safety issues reviewed lies primarily in prevention efforts and the recommendations of the JSNA reflect this.
