New population projections to 2036

11 June 2018

New population projections have been produced by Swindon Borough Council (SBC) that estimate the local population up to 2036.

The projections are policy-led, that is they take into account local housing growth and development (whereas projections from the Office of National Statistics do not).  This means the SBC projections are the best available to use for service planning in the borough and as such were adopted by the Swindon Health and Wellbeing Board (HWB) in May 2018.

The projections contain figures for both the Swindon Borough area and also the Clinical Commissioning Group geographical area.

The projections can be found on the population page where the report delivered to the HWB can be downloaded along with detailed data at single year of age and gender. A population estimates and projections frequently asked questions document is also available.
