2017 Swindon Health Profile

04 July 2017

Public Health England (PHE) have developed Health Profiles for every local authority area in England to provide a snapshot overview of health.  The 2017 profiles were published on 4 July 2017 and are the latest in the series of annual publications stretching back to 2006 when they were created by the Association of Public Health Observatories (APHO).

The latest profile for Swindon shows good outcomes in areas such as long-term unemployment, breastfeeding, obesity in 10-11 year olds and road safety but also highlights room for improvement in areas such as violent crime, excess weight in adults and hospital stays for self-harm or alcohol related harm.

Swindon's profiles for the last 6 years can be downloaded from the Health Profiles page on this website.  This page also provides further information including a link to PHE's interactive health profiles website.
